Welcome to the BAAPS annual conference for 2012. This will be held at the Royal College of Physicians with a day specifically for Trainees and newly appointed Consultants on Wednesday 19^th September followed by the main program on Thursday and Friday 20-21^st September. We are delighted to welcome our guest speakers to the faculty who include Fritz E Barton from Dallas Texas who will talk about avoiding problems following lower lid blepharoplasty and his integrated approach to facial rejuvenation surgery. Dr Claude Le Louarn from Paris will speak on body contouring, pan facial treatment with botox and midface lifting. Dr Alexis Verpaele from Ghent, Belgium will speak on reducing capsular contracture following breast augmentation as well as techniques for fat grafting to the face and modifications of the MACS lift. 2012 is a year which has seen Aesthetic Surgery challenged by the PIP scandal and new changes with Government regulation being lead and advised by the BAAPS along with other National Associations. We respond to this by devoting a mini symposium during the meeting to lessons from the PIP saga and the future of regulation. The whole program has been designed to encourage interaction with the speakers so we expect some lively debate!

Our annual association dinner will be held on Thursday evening at the Royal Institute if British Architects (RIBA) on Portland Place which is walking distance from the Deluxe Langham Hotel which will be the Conference base. All venues of the meeting including the Royal College of Physicians have been chosen to be within easy walking distance of each other and this will add to create what we hope will be an educative and enjoyable experience for all.
